The First UK Printing published by Eyre and Spottiswoode in 1946.The BOOK is in near FINE condition.A little toning and spotting to the text-block.Light pushing to the upper spine end.Small unobtrusive remnant of a Times Book Club stamp to the lower rear pastedown.The book is remarkably clean for its age being free from erasures and inscriptions.The fragile paper WRAPPER is complete and is in VERY GOOD++ or better condition.Mild edge wear with a small nick on the upper front spine fold.The spine colouring has faded but the black lettering remains bright.The wrapper artwork looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. Profusely illustrated with colour and B/W illustrations through by Mervyn Peake.Very scarce to find in such condition.A key 'Peake' Title
