A scarce title to find signed
Morris, Jan ~ Trieste and the Meaning of Nowhere : Signed By The Author In The Year Of Publication
Faber & Faber, London : 2001
The First UK printing published by Faber & Faber, London in 2001. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Original cloth with cream titling to the spine. A few tiny bumps to the board edges and some light pushing at the upper spine tip. A tiny indentation to the front board, barely discernible. The usual light toning to the text-block and page edges due to the quality of the parer stock used. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with just some very light creasing to the spine ends and rear panel upper edge. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been inscribed by the author to the title page : 'Jack and Dora!, with every kind wish, Jan Morris , at Cheltenham 2001'. The literary event with Jan Morris opened the 2001 Cheltenham Festival. A surprisingly uncommon title, more-so with such attributes, and one of the best books on the city in the English language. As expected, James Joyce played an important role in both Trieste and the book. Collectible
