A First UK printing published by Michael Joseph in 1957.The BOOK is in near FINE condition.The Boards are very clean with bright gilt titling.lower edges a little faded.Text-block slightly dusty.Some of the page edges have mild corner creasing at the upper corners.The paper WRAPPER is in VERY GOOD condition but does have some closed tears, edge-wear and some chipping- see photos.The flaps remain clean and the red titling on the wrapper is still bright.The Paul Hogarth designed wrapper looks very presentable in the removable Brodart archival protector.Paul Hogarth has illustrated the book with wonderful B/W drawings.The Book has been INSCRIBED and SIGNED by DORIS LESSING on the front end paper.The recipient was Doris Lessing's Solicitor who is mentioned by profession on page 248 of the book.The book is a personal account of The Nobel Laureate's return to Southern Rhodesia.A very scarce title to find in any condition.Extremely scarce with such attributes.
