A First UK printing published by Methuen in 1946.The BOOK is in near FINE condition.Mild pushing to the spine tips with some dustiness and browning to the text block.There is very light foxing spots to the first and last few pages.The green titling looks very striking on the purple covered boards.The fragile war time economy produced WRAPPER is complete and in VERY GOOD ++ condition.It is complete and has some minor rubbing with loss at the spine tips and corners.The spine is browned but the lettering and colouring are still very clear.The front flap and rear cover have some foxing spots and the rear cover is lightly rubbed in places.The Jean Ross ( purportedly the model for the famous Sally Bowles character) period designed wrapper looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival protector.The book has been SIGNED to the title page by Christopher Isherwood.A scarce title to find in any collectable condition.Early Isherwood signed titles are extremely scarce.A lovely item.
