The First UK printing published by The Hogarth Press, London in 1953. The BOOK is in very Good++ condition. Original green cloth with gilt titling. Some small holes to the lower front hinge. Mild pushing at the spine ends with light offsetting and toning to the text-block. Two neat penned previous owner's names to the upper blank end-paper. The scarce WRAPPER is neatly price-clipped and is in Very Good+ condition with some light edge-wear at the corners and spine ends. A 3 cm. closed tear to the upper rear spine fold and smaller closed tears to the front upper spine fold and rear upper corner. Light age related markings. some light toning to the spine and folds. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. A 4 page introduction by Vita Sackville-West. Extremely scarce with the wrapper.
