The long-awaited concluding novel in what is known as the Weirdstone trilogy, which began with The Weirdstone of Brisingamen: A Tale of Alderley in 1960, and was followed by The Moon of Gomrath in 1963. Falling out of love with the characters, Garner went so far as to dismiss his first book as “fairly bad”, but after some revisions, a 50th anniversary edition (released in 2010) and a BBC radio 4 adaptation, the final work was released in the summer of 2012, over 50 years after the publication of the first work in the series. Scarce as a signed title.
