A wonderful tale based on the various circus skills of the Foskett family - including young Fred (who performs back flips), Uncle Phoenix Foskett (who blows smoke rings) Jess and Bess (conjuring tricks) and various other escapades including juggling eggs, singing animals, and much more. Yeoman and Blake were childhood school friends, and together they collaborated on more than 30 books together over a career which spanned over 40 years. Their partnership relied upon a unique synergy: Quentin claiming that John’s words “ask to be illustrated”, and John replying of his developing stories that “I see them in pictures”.
