The sole printing published by Aux Editions, Un Coup De Des Bruxelles in 1949. This is number '2122' of a limited Edition of 2,175 copies (There were also 25 'exemplaires sur japon marques'). The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition. The front hinge has been neatly reinforced with archival tape and is very discrete. The preface by Raymond Queneau, colour photographs, and many striking B/W illustrations by Felix Labisse (French Surrealist). Original printed wrappers are complete, 136 numbered pages with text in French. The book has been inscribed and signed in pencil by Bauwens to the front blank end-paper. The inscription reads : 'A Monsieur ?, Voici quelques recettes qui rechaufferant les amateurs de bonnes choses, aussi fort que le chauffage au moyant, ce qui n'est pas peu dire - amities de l'auteur, Bruxelles, le 11 Novembre, 1950, Emile Bauwens'. The book is protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. An uncommon volume by the Head Barman at 'The Saint James Hotel in Brussels', and includes such recipes as Bicks, Coblers, Collins Coolers, Crustas, Cups, Daisies, Egg Noggs, Fix, Fizzes, Flips, Horses Neck, Juleps, Pousse Cafés, Sangarees, Shandy, Punchs, Rickeys, Slings, Smashes, Sours, Squash, Toddies, etc.' Scarce with such attributes.
