The First UK printing published by Putnam, London in 1955. The BOOK is in VERY GOOD+ condition. A little pushing at the spine tips and the corners. The edges are lightly faded and darkened. Some toning and spotting to the text block which has encroached onto the pages in places, due to the poor quality of paper used in production. A small black dot mark to the upper text block. The WRAPPER is complete and is in VERY GOOD++ or better condition. A little rubbing to the spine folds, spine and corners in places. Some closed tears to the upper front edge (see images). The red lettering to the spine is only mildly faded. A little edge wear in places but in much better condition than usually encountered. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been Signed ( without dedication) by the author to the front blank end paper. An increasingly elusive title with such attributes.
