Light toning to the text-block and page edges. Free from inscriptions. The grey top-stain remains vibrant. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with just very light edge-wear at the spine tips and corners. Light toning to the spine and edges. The red lettering to the spine remains unfaded. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed (without dedication) by W.H. Auden to the second blank end-paper. Photographic illustrations throughout. The folding map of Iceland is present at the rear and is in fine condition. One of only 10,240 copies in the first printing. Increasingly scarce with such attributes.
