A 2 Volume Set. Volume 1: 'The Bourbons Of Naples'. The First UK published by Methuen, London in 1956. The BOOK is in near FINE condition. Gilt titling bright. Mild pushing to spine tips. A tight, clean copy which is free from inscriptions. Light tanning to page edges and text block. Salmon top-stain is faded but still present. The price-clipped WRAPPER is in VERY GOOD + condition. Minor edge wear with a little rubbing to the folds and lightly on the spine in places. 2 closed tears to the lower spine folds with creasing and a rubbed area to the lower front panel. Volume 2: 'The Last Bourbons of Naples'. The First UK printing published by Methuen in 1961. The BOOK is in near FINE condition. Gilt titling bright with a little pushing at the spine ends. Purple top stain still present. Mild toning to the text block. A clean and tight copy. The price-clipped WRAPPER is in VERY GOOD+ condition. Mild edge wear and rubbing in places with two closed tears to the lower spine folds. A little loss to the upper front spine fold with mild creasing at the upper spine area. This title has been INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Harold Acton to the front blank end-paper: 'For Isabel Kemp, with best wishes and hopes that we may meet beside the bluest of bays, cordially, Harold Acton'. Both wrappers look very striking in the removable Brodart archival protectors. A scarce signed title and for some the definitive books on the Bourbon Family. Collectible.
